Select a Hudak's Bakery Retail Outlet: 15th Street Mildura Centro Kiosk THE 8TH STREET STORE The building housing Hudak's Bakery on the corner of 8th St and the Langtree Mall in the Mildura City Heart was built in 1924 and has been known as Bowrings Buildings by generations of Mildura residents. In the Art Deco style, the building has ground and first floors and now houses Hudak's new Bakery Cafe' in the corner section of both levels and various tenants in shop fronts at street level and offices upstairs. On the upper level of the Bakery Cafe', customers are able to peruse historic photographs of the building when it was first built, of Langtree Avenue in days gone by, of the 1956 floods and various streetscapes and subjects of interest. Original floor boards have been uncovered and polished and the interior design is in keeping with the age of the building. The addition of a balcony provides Mildura's first upper level Al Fresco eating spot and it is sure to be very popular in the milder months of the year and on our glorious sunny winter days. MORE THAN JUST A TYPICAL BAKERY Hudak's is first and foremost a bakery and the delicious foods that come out of the ovens now reflect the more sophisticated eating choices of our multicultural population. The development of Hudak's business into bakery-cafe's is also a reflection of a society shift towards regular eating away from home and a small number of people taking their lunch to work with them when they go to work. In 1924, when Bowring's Buildings, the site of Hudak's newest bakery cafe', was first opened eating breakfast away from home would have been almost unheard of. Now it is common, and it is often turned into a business meeting. Hudak's first floor and Balcony are perfect for breakfast meetings as the environment is quiet and mostly un-crowded. Meeting friends for a coffee mid morning or afternoon, or for lunch, is a pleasure. It is also very convenient for shoppers and those going on to business appointments afterwards. Once you have paid for your tea or coffee you can help yourself to refills of tea of gourmet Douwe Eggbert coffee from the central hot drinks station as many time as you like. Over the counter beverages include Cappuccino, Skinnyccino, Espresso or Short Black, Cafe' Latte, Macchiato, Hot or Iced Chocolate, Herbal Teas, Earl Grey and creamy iced coffees. Naturally, at Hudak's you'll find fully stocked fridges of numerous kinds of soft drinks, mineral waters and milk products if you prefer to have a cold drink with your lunch or snack. Seating at street level and upstairs is in booths and at tables. A booth is a great place for a group of friends to get together, and a table for two provides a couple with the chance for a private chat.
